Chaplaincy

The Chaplaincy Team in our school has rapidly grown over the last two years. We have a dedicated Assistant Lay Chaplain, Mrs Ann Haigh, who works four days a week and is available to work with students at break and lunch times, as well as in lessons too. All members of the Religious Education Department contribute as part of the Chaplaincy team, and are very much involved in helping to organise liturgical services & events too.

Although we have a wonderful Chaplaincy Team within school, we have also have strong links with our local Parishes too. A number of Priests & Deacons regularly visit school to say Mass or lead liturgical services, or to help out in lessons. We also hold the Portsmouth Deanery Meetings here too, which allows us to catch up with all the clergy and discuss how best they can continue to serve all those in our Diocese.

We have a beautiful Chapel that is used weekly to hold the Friday morning Mass service, in which different Priests come into to school and say Mass for both students & teachers. It starts at 08:15 am and lasts no more than 20 minutes. It is the ideal opportunity for members of school community to come together before the weekend to hear the good news of the Gospel. The Chapel is also used during lessons for meditation and prayer too.
